Longtime Montgomery County Historical Society Executive Director Mary Kay Harper (1990-2008) discusses her experience at MCHS, including people she worked with and hired, grant funding, education initiatives, and other activities of the organization during her tenure. Interviewed by Janine Boyce at the Beall-Dawson House in 2009.
Description
Mary Kay Harper was born in Washington DC and moved to Montgomery County in 1962. She obtained a degree in chemistry and worked at the Department of Agriculture Utilization Research. In the early 1980s she became involved with the Montgomery County Historical Society (now Montgomery History). She was Executive Director of the Society for 18 years and retired in 2008.
